Apologies for the the long delay in updating. I (Sterling) was very busy with finals and related nonsense, but now I’m back and will hopefully be keeping the YSH blog in better repair.
Our Grand Slam Finals was very successful, attracting over 300 attendees who witnessed the formation of Team Hawai’i 2012. This team will participate in the Brave New Voices International Youth Slam Poetry Festival this July in San Francisco and consists of:

Serena Simmons
Malaya Valenzuela
Faith Pascua
& Hannah Matsunaga
These poets will train until July with mentors Darron Cambra, Sterling Higa, and Lyz Soto. They will then travel to compete.
